A picture containing blackDescription automatically generatedWindermere, FL, May 18, 2020 – IAOP® today announced “The Contract Professional’s Playbook eLearning Certificate Program,” a 12-week, web-based, self-paced program designed to enhance critical contracting competencies to master performance- and outcome-based contracts. The Certificate of Completion is worth 25 COP points and 12 CEHs.

This unparalleled contracting certificate program through IAOP will focus on walking subject matter experts – who may be new to complex contracting – step-by-step through all aspects of the contract life cycle.

“I am pleased to partner with IAOP to offer The Contract Professional’s Playbook eLearning Certificate Program to IAOP members. Having worked with both procurement and sales-side contract professionals to develop Vested Outsourcing agreements, it became apparent that the next generation of contract professionals needed the skills and tools now to prepare them to effectively draft, negotiate and manage the next generation of outsourcing agreements. With that in mind, Lawrence Kane and I developed an insanely comprehensive program that will upskill those new to performance- and outcome-based contracting, filling the gap between aCOP and COP.” Jeanette Nyden, J.D., author and commercial contracts expert.

The certificate program methodically answers 12 “How do I” questions. It is designed for both buy and sell-side professionals and offers 12 targeted training videos/webinars, 12 chat sessions between Lawrence and Jeanette, 25 tools such as checklists and spreadsheets in pdf format, and The Contract Professional’s Playbook in pdf as the course manual. Invaluable competencies include identifying and managing risk, increasing influence with stakeholders, developing pricing models, negotiating complex deals, and governing customer-supplier relationships to avoid value leakage in the midst of constant change.

“As a longtime IAOP Training & Certification Committee and Think Tank member, I am thrilled to announce our partnership with the IAOP to offer The Contract Professional’s Playbook e-Learning Program to IAOP members looking to enhance their complex contracting skill set. Co-author Jeanette Nyden (principal-author of Getting to We) and I recognized a need to train the next generation of contracting professionals to draft, negotiate and manage performance- and outcome-based contracts. The comprehensive curriculum walks buy-side and sell-side practitioners step-by-step through the contract lifecycle, bridging the skill and experience gap between the aCOP and COP certifications. It’s invaluable training that improves outsourcing outcomes.” Lawrence Kane, Senior Leader, Strategic Sourcing Functional Excellence at a Fortune® 50 company, IAOP Training & Certification Committee and Think Tank Member.
