Summary:
Organizations are increasingly realizing the value of incorporating some socially responsible considerations when engaging a service provider. As newer options and models such as Impact Sourcing and Rural Sourcing become mainstream, the Buyer and Provider community is collaborating like never before to ensure their efforts include a social vector. This session brought together experts from the Donor, Provider and Buyer community to engage in a discussion around how Responsible Sourcing doesn’t have to mean a choice between social and economic value – the two can go hand in hand. The speakers discussed how outsourcing models like Impact Sourcing are changing the socio-economic environment in places as far flung as Vietnam, Kenya and Haiti. Learn how technology and innovative processes and training tools are enabling these models. We also heard from Buyer organizations how they include a socially responsible component in their selection process.

Compete or Cooperate? Bridging the Nearshore-Offshore Divide

Nearshoring is here to stay and the Americas region is brimming with cost competitive and competent destinations, each vying to be the next big thing. But the looming question is, will these contenders co-exist with the larger and more mature offshore destinations or is this a zero sum game? The need for de-risking and diversification has propelled Nearshoring as a critical component of global sourcing. For offshore BPO providers to succeed in this market they have to tackle the Nearshoring challenge.  For the Nearshore providers to thrive, they have to decide whether to Compete or Cooperate with the Offshore players. This panel discussion will discuss the comparative benefits and challenges of Nearshore vs Offshore destinations and explore various collaborative and competitive models to succeed in a multishoring environment.

Main topics covered:
  • Key benefits and challenges of Nearshoring
  • What role does Nearshoring play in a Global Sourcing portfolio
  • A perspective on Nearshore destinations – Maturity, Breadth of services, Capabilities
  • How are Nearshore providers faring against Offshore ones – Is it Compete or Cooperate?
  • Selecting the right Nearshore destination
