Next Meeting March 15, 2017
The IAOP DACH Chapter chaired by Accenture, Germany Trade & Invest, Infosys, Intel, Zurich Financial, Deloitte, and Olswang LLP is proud to announce its next planned chapter meeting to be held in Vienna on Wednesday, March 15 from 1pm-5pm at Raiffeisen Bank International.
The topic is “Innovation in Procurement”. There will be a speech from Edzard Janssen of RBI is the CPO (Head of Purchasing) with a discussion by Peter Schmutzer, Intel, on Discourse on New Methods in Purchasing/Vendor Management followed by open discussion. This meeting will be presented in German and is for the buyer community.

Networking: 1. fostering the Outsourcing community to come together in Germany for launching the German chapter, 2. Bringing the industry analysts together to study the latest market trends from independent point of view and analyzing the behavioral patterns 3. Hosting events ranging from leaders in outsourcing context to beginners to understand the different perspectives of the business needs that drive them for Outsourcing initiatives.
Education: 1. Expert sessions on latest sourcing and technology trends and drivers that affect the outlook of tomorrows outsourcing market (e.g., Crowd sourcing, Cloud technologies etc.,) 2. Emerging industry and regulatory trends (e.g., Healthcare, Energy) specific to geography that needs to be carefully evaluated before any outsourcing initiative 3. Understand the key drivers to be carefully evaluated in Outsourcing context specific to Germany/local Geography needs (local regulations, data protection, language needs etc.,).

The IAOP DACH Chapter chaired by Accenture, Germany Trade & Invest, Infosys, Intel, Zurich Financial, Deloitte, and Olswang LLP held a webinar on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at 4:00pm CEST (Central European) / 10am EDT (Eastern).
Topic: “Advancement of Robotics and Automation”
Speaker: Shishir Lohmror, Managing Director Accenture GmbH
With rapid advancement in technology and growing maturity, robotics and automation within the IT outsourcing space is becoming more of a reality and brings along a completely new dimension in how clients will define their future IT outsourcing journeys. Robotics and automation will dramatically redefine how the IT outsourcing services will be solutioned and delivered by the IT players in the ecosystem. Last but not least, as clients across industries will embrace robotics and automation within their IT and processes landscape it will open up newer dimensions of capabilities enrichment and growth for each individual involved.
The presentation was led by Shishir Lohmror. Shishir is a Managing Director within Accenture Technology business and leads the Application Services portfolio across the Products operating group in the DACH region. Shishir has been leading the IT outsourcing transformation programs for clients across several industries over last 15+ years and is a known speaker at known industry events. Over last years, Shishir is part of Accenture’s leadership team which is redefining the approach to advancing robotics and automation across the IT outsourcing services spectrum.

The IAOP DACH Chapter, chaired by Accenture, Germany Trade & Invest, Infosys, Intel, Zurich Financial, Deloitte, and Olswang LLP held a meeting on December 10, 2015 from 12:30 – 14:00 Central European Time at OMV Headoffice, Trabrennstrasse 6-8, 1020 Wien in Vienna, Austria.
The IAOP-DACH-Chapter held an open discussion where participants shared their own experience and targets for achieving Best Practice Supplier Governance.
Comprehensive insights into the state of Supplier Governance in Austria were delivered and an outlook into the latest trends in transforming Supplier Governance to best practice were shared.

Meeting held on September 17, 2015
The IAOP DACH Chapter, chaired by Accenture, Germany Trade & Invest, Infosys, Intel, Zurich Financial, Deloitte, Orange Business Services and Olswang LLP held a meeting on September 17, 2015 from 15:00 – 18:30 Central European Time at Cisco Customer Briefing Center, Ludwig-Erhard-Strasse 3, 65760 Eschborn, Germany.
The program topic was “Multisourcing Governance” and we thank Cisco and Avasant for hosting this event. Cisco presented “Multiparty Service Governance”, we heard the voice of the customer in an enterprise use-case and Avasant refered to “Challenges of Service Integration and Governance”.
The event further introduced IAOP to the participants and shared latest insights for the planned “European Outsourcing Summit 2015” which will take place in Frankfurt on October 18-20.

Program Topic: “Outsourcing Relationship Quality”
The IAOP Executive Round Table Vienna event was the first formal meeting of interested industry experts in Vienna. The event was intended to further introduce IAOP to the participants and share latest insights from the IAOP 2015 Outsourcing World Summit in Phoenix, Arizona (February 16-18, 2015). This discussion was extended to share views on innovation topics, networking opportunities with outsourcing leaders, and to individual networking amongst the participants.
We were delighted to have Prof. Daniel Beimborn from the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, linked to IAOP through the academic alliance with University of Bamberg, provide a key-note on the topic of “Outsourcing Relationship Quality”. Outsourcing Relationship Quality is the subject of a current research project at the University of Bamberg, which Prof. Beimborn leads.

Program Topic: “Cloud Agreements – Industry trends and Legal considerations”
Dr. Andreas Splittgerber from Olswang Germany LLP discussed the topic from a legal perspective and Mr. Christian Tueffers from Accenture GmbH addressed the latest Industry trends and live customer expectations. The topic focused on the current Industry trends in the market with customer's adoption of more Cloud based IT solutions to run their businesses. The subject also captured concerns such as IT security, protection of personal data and of business secret related to German Data Protection Act, as it is highly relevant in the region . Additionally, “Nutzen von Zertifizierungen im Rahmen von TOMs” and "Zertifizierung als Grundlage für Auftragsdatenverarbeitung, Cloud und Big Data“ focused on the gap between existing certification standards and the TOM requirements of German (also Austrian and Swiss) law.

Program Topic: “Best Practice - Contingent Workforce R&D” --presented by Peter Schmutzer from Intel Corporation.
The European Directive for Contingent labor has raised a lot of issues concerning external workforces while they are getting more and more important to maintain a flexible talent pool that can quickly react on changes in the market conditions. Engineering services is a highly integrated, highly paid domain but still is treated equally to staff augmentation and temporary work. As there is no clear yes and no in the labor legislation it is imperative to mitigate as good as you can.

The latest trends in the market as well as other relevant outsourcing topics and discuss how it affects our organizations were shared.
Program Topic: “ When Quality & Price Matter: The added Benefits of Incentives in Germany” --presented by Mr. Friedrich Henle and Mrs. Josefine Dutschmann from German Trade and Invest.
Germany is Europe's largest domestic market and offers interesting location advantages -including numerous incentives to all investors – regardless of whether they are from Germany or not. One of the most attractive incentive programs are non-repayable cash incentives. These can be used to significantly reduce human resources costs of new service facilities. The aid intensity offered varies between 10% and 40% depending on the size of the applying enterprise and the location within in Germany. This webinar explained the cash incentive program in detail.
