IAOP is pleased to be returning to Disney's Yacht & Beach Club with its old New England charm and inviting atmosphere. Relax in the elegant lobby with all its nautical touches, explore the whimsical Stormalong Bay (a 3-acre water wonderland) and rent a variety of watercraft from Bayside Marina. You'll be in walking distance to Epcot and a short boatride away from Disney's Hollywood Studios.

First class amenities include a state-of-the-art fitness center, an incredible feature pool and four incomparable restaurants - including an old-fashioned ice cream parlor. All of this nestled in a setting of exquisite gardens, sparkling pools and white-sand beaches. Adjacent to the resort is the Boardwalk, an eclectic array of shops,eateries and entertainment.

For your convenience, a block of rooms has been reserved at Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resort at the special group rate of US$269.00 per night. Illuminations: Reflections of Earth

Bring the whole family to enjoy decadent desserts and cordials while experiencing this magical, incredible fireworks extravaganza at EPCOT! Disney does pyrotechnics and lasers like nowhere else on earth. IAOP has reserved a "front-row" private viewing area to host this party on Tuesday evening, February16tth.

Research Workshop

IAOP is pleased to host the second annual IAOP Research Workshop on Sunday, February 14.  This one-day workshop, sponsored by ISG, is an opportunity for academic and industry researchers to present and discuss full research base papers as well as research-in-progress.  The intention of the workshop is to allow leading researchers to interact with global practitioners, inlcluding outsourcing buyers, providers, and advisors.  A limited number of papers will be accepted for discussion at the workshop, and the winning paper will be presented during the Summit.

Outsourcing Certification Primer: Earning Your Certifiction & Beyond - An introduction to IAOP's training and certification programs, which address the needs of individuals who work across the global outsourcing industry from entry level to senior executives at customer, provider, and advisor organizations.

The Certified Outsourcing Professional Application: A Tutorial - This workshop is for individuals who have already decided to become a COP but need help jump-starting their application.  You will be taken step by step through a sample application to make sure you fully understand what is expected of you during the process.

Dining

Enjoy fine dining at the Yachtsman Steakhouse, a poolside lunch at Hurricane Hanna's Grill, or a buffet at the Cape May Cafe. Across the lagoon on the Boardwalk you can eat a sandwich while watching your favorite sport at the ESPN Club or enjoy a relaxing dinner at the Big River Grill or Trattoria al Forno.  Just want a snack - try pizza, funnel cake, hot dogs or grab a sweet treat from the bakery.

New and exciting additions to nearby Disney Springs include:

  • Morimoto Asia which will be the Japanese Master Chef's first-ever pan-Asian restaurant featuring flavors from across the continent and unique exhibition kitchens showcasing traditions like Peking duck carving and dim sum.
  • Jock Lindsay's Hangar Bar featuring unique cocktails such as the "Hovito Mojito" with Barsol Quebranta Pisco, fresh lime juice and ismple syrup, and small plates such as "Air Pirates Everything Pretzels" with house-made mustard and beer cheese fondue.
  • Other new restaurants will be announced over the next few months.   


We strongly urge you to make dining reservations prior to traveling as this is a holiday week and the restaurants will be busy.  Reservations can be easily made online by visiting: http://disneyworld.disney.go.com.  

At the Summit a dedicated concierge will be available in the conference center lobby during select hours to assist those who have not yet made reservations, however we recommend you book reservations now to avoid disappointment.

Entertainment

Looking for some fun - listen to dueling pianos at Jelly Rolls, put your dancing shoes on and head to the Atlantic Dance Hall, or just kick back and listen to the live radio sports shows at ESPN Club.  On the Boadwalk you will find Surrey Bikes to rent and classic arcade games alongside talented street entertainment.

As much as we all love Disney, Orlando has much more to offer.  Search www.visitorlando.com to find unique events going on during your stay as well as information about Universal Orlando, Sea World, and Legoland.  Find something for everyone in your group... theme parks, attractions, shopping, golf, spas and more.

Climate

Low humidity and daytime highs of around 75° and evening lows of 63° characterize December through February in Orlando.  Don't forget to bring your hat and sunscreen!

Attire

Enjoy the climate and the atmosphere by dressing in business casual for this event, but please realize that meeting room temperatures may vary. Bring either a sweater or jacket for your personal comfort.
