IAOP Launches Globalization Today Magazine
First Official Publication for Growing Ranks of Outsourcing Professionals

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y., Oct. 1, 2009 –The International Association of Outsourcing Professionals® (IAOP®) has entered a joint venture to launch Globalization Today magazine, the official trade journal for the association’s 100,000 members and affiliates worldwide.

Premiering in January 2010, Globalization Todayis pioneering in both its editorial focus and cutting-edge approach to media. Globalization Today is the first publication to launch in seven distinct formats, including print, video/multi-media, iPhone and audio podcast.

Editorially, by utilizing "crowd sourcing" techniques popularized by Internet powerhouses like Digg, the magazine will tap IAOP members and other industry professionals to create the largest library of outsourcing content freely available to the public.

Globalization Today’s business model is unique when it comes to its advertising because it has no set rates.Instead, it is borrowing a page from eBay's playbook, selling all advertisingvia an online auction with no minimum bids.

This approach helps keep our costs down, allowing us to pass the savings along to our customers,” said Ali Comelek, Globalization Todays founder and publisher.

“Having a high-quality trade publication available in multiple formats to communicate both to our members and the industry as a whole furthers our reach and continues the growth of our association,” said IAOP Chairman Michael Corbett. “Our members have a wealth of experiences and best practices to share and learn from each other. This publication gives us an official vehicle to communicate the timely news and information to help outsourcing professionals do their jobs better and improve outsourcing outcomes.”

Said Comelek, “IAOP members will receive great business benefit from the magazine and media platform. These include the opportunity to be seen as thought leaders from their editorial contributions, to gain publicity from global buyer guide listings, and to receive discounts on advertising. Our partnership with IAOP enables us to fulfill our mission of creating the best and largest informational resource on outsourcing by uniting and tapping the collective intellect of individuals from around the world. By opening our media platform to the professionals who are immersed in the industry every day, we will produce content with a depth and relevance beyond what is currently available.”
