Web Conference:  Outsourcing’s Evolving Value Proposition

The next Web conference in the Outsourcing Insights series, entitled “Outsourcing’s Evolving Value Proposition,” will be held Tuesday, December 10, 2002 at 1:00 pm eastern time.

Outsourcing spending continues to expand globally at close to 15 percent per year.  However, in today’s rapidly changing and uncertain business climate the reasons for outsourcing, as well as the key requirements that must be met to make a deal work, have changed dramatically.

Did you know that in the most recent Strategic Outsourcing Study, executives said that outsourcing’s ability to free an organization’s resources, especially its managers’ time and energy, to focus on the larger issues of the day is now its top value?  Although costs savings will always be important, it’s clear that outsourcing’s value proposition is shifting.

Customer, providers and consultants alike need to stay ahead of this knowledge curve to be successful.

Spend an hour and a half from your desk and learn:

· The latest customer thinking on the value of outsourcing.

· How outsourcing’s shifting value proposition varies across key functional and industry segments.

· Practical insights into identifying and delivering against specific client objectives.

· What the future may hold as we move through this period of extreme uncertainty.

Joining Mr. Corbett on the program are:

· Mike Cassidy, Vice President, Aetna Services, Aetna, Inc.

Mike Cassidy has served in a number of corporate management positions since joining Aetna in 1989. His responsibilities include management, both internally and through outsourcing, of an 11 million square foot real estate portfolio, administrative services including safety, security, environmental and office services, transportation, food services, conference-planning and executive travel.

· Jean-Francois Poisson, General Manager, Contract Management (Real Estate), Bell Canada

Jean-Francois has been involved in numerous successful outsourcing contracts at Bell Canada, including office support services, logistics, customer service installation, and most recently, the outsourcing of the Bell Corporate Real Estate division, one of the largest real estate outsourcing ventures in Canada.

· Adrian T. Moore, Executive Director, Reason Public Policy Institute

Adrian is one the country’s top experts on privatization and government management.  He both researches and reports on government-wide trends and applies this research to real-world problems through advisory roles with state and local government reform commissions, including ones in Kansas, Oklahoma, Arizona, Virginia, San Diego County, Charlotte, and Washington, D.C.

· William P. Metz, IT Strategic Sourcing, Procter & Gamble

Bill has been at the forefront of the trend to adopt a global approach to sourcing IT work.  Currently IT Strategic Sourcing Section Manager at Procter & Gamble, his work to move P&G's IT organization toward a global sourcing model has delivered significant savings and flexibility.  P&G is ranked 35th on the list of Fortune 500 companies.

The program includes insights and research findings from Mr. Corbett, a panel discussion with client executives with business process, information technology and facilities operations responsibilities, and an open Q&A session and discussion among the conference participants.

All of this taking place on-line and on the phone utilizing Web conferencing capabilities of PlaceWare.
