IAOP Partners with Boston University to Advance Outsourcing and Offshoring


POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. Dec. 3, 2009 – The
International Association of Outsourcing Professionals® (IAOP®) is continuing to build its academic alliances through a new partnership with Boston University School of Management’s Institute for Global Work (IGW).


The groups will work together to share research, best practices and thought leadership to promote the industry and profession of outsourcing and offshoring.


Under the agreement, IAOP and its members can participate in research studies developed by IGW; and the university will have the opportunity to present its findings at IAOP conferences, among other benefits.       

“Through academic alliance partnerships with Boston University and others, we are continuously educating our members by developing research and providing academic-based best standards that improve the industry and outsourcing as a profession,” said IAOP Chairman Michael Corbett.

“Partnering with IAOP furthers IGW’s goal of being an influential driver of research and thought leadership one that shapes and guides leading-edge practices for global business processes,” said John Henderson, the Institute’s director.

IAOP’s other academic partners include Duke’s C.I.B.E.R. Fuqua School of Business Offshoring Research Network, Carnegie Mellon University’s IT Services Qualification Center (ITSqc), Syracuse University’s Outsourcing Professional Institute (OPI) and California State University Fullerton (CSUF)’s Mihaylo College of Business and Economics Center for Emerging Markets.
