IAOP Announces Keynotes for The 2008 European Outsourcing Summit

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY, July 8, 2008 – Leading outsourcing experts from companies around the globe will discuss the unique differences in creating and implementing outsourcing strategies in Europe at The 2008 European Outsourcing Summit this fall in Spain.

Presented by the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals, the executive conference series will feature speakers from such global companies as IBM, inBev, General Motors, Vodafone, Fortis, Genpact, Dynea Chemical, Procter & Gamble, Repsol, Capgemini and Colliers International, along with other European and UK-based companies.

IAOP today announced keynote speakers for the event on Oct. 16-17 include professors Arie Lewin of Duke University, Fuqua School of Business and Joan Enric Ricart of IESE Business School, University of Navarro; and Atul Vashistha, CEO, neoGroup.

Themed Outsourcing 2008: Universal Truths – Regional Realities, the program is focused on sharing insights, best practices and lessons learned from businesses around the globe to help companies involved in all different stages of outsourcing in Europe succeed.

“Labor, government regulations, management styles, currency and consumer preferences are some of the unique factors that make outsourcing in Europe different than other parts of the world,” said IAOP Chairman Michael Corbett, who will make opening remarks to some 150 executives expected to attend the event.

“Through the European Outsourcing Summit, our goal is to help companies based in Europe or doing business in Europe make smarter decisions and achieve improved outcomes, avoid costly mistakes and win in today’s global marketplace.”

Highlights of the program at the IESE Business School, University of Navarra in Barcelona include:

Ø A panel discussion from the customer, provider and advisor perspective on the Conflicting, Confusing and Costly Global Regulations of Global Sourcing that will look at navigating differing privacy, security and reporting regulations, and employment practices that vary by European country

Ø A keynote presentation on Globalization from a European Perspective that will discuss how top European companies are approaching outsourcing and top outsourcing destinations in the region

Ø The unveiling of new research on Offshoring Service Activities in the U.S. and European Union that will explore emerging trends and outsourcing/offshoring of value-added and innovative functions. The findings will show a pressing need for boards and top management of companies in European countries to pay greater attention to these strategies

Tailored to meet the business and educational needs of professionals in this region, the event includes more than 20 sessions in two tracks: one focused on providing a 360-degree viewpoint on European outsourcing, and the second on strategy and implementation.
