PRIMARY PURPOSE

The Brazilian IT market, the world's 8th largest, turned over US$ 85 billion in 2010. But outsourcing practices are still less frequently used and relatively less mature in the country than in more mature markets like the U.S. and Europe. The opportunity for the development of outsourcing practices in Brazil is huge.

For enterprises that are users of outsourcing, this would lead to competitive advantage, because they could focus on the core activities that create the most strategic value to the business, while taking advantage of productivity gains in the activities outsourced to specialists.

For service providers, an increase in the maturity of outsourcing practices would lead to greater demand, because enterprises would be more comfortable outsourcing their non-core activities, which in turn would lead to further development of the local and global markets for companies in the sector.

The primary objective for the IAOP Brazil Chapter is to become the country's most relevant platform for transforming the business environment in Brazil through the development of outsourcing, offshoring, and shared services practices.

Another important objective is to attract key stakeholders (buyers, providers, and advisors) in the Brazilian market, creating an opportunity for thought leadership discussions, exchange of knowledge and experiences, and networking.

Another important objective is to create education and certification opportunities for buyers and providers in outsourcing related areas, such as COP (Certified Outsourcing Professional), COS (Certified Outsourcing Specialist), and eSCM-SP (eSourcing Capability Model for Service Providers) e eSCM-CL (eSourcing Capability Model for Clients)
