Online COP Master Class


The online version, developed by the IAOP, makes it easier than ever to gain the Certificate of Completion showing you earned half of the 150 points needed towards COP certification or fulfilled completely the aCOP training requirement.

Is the online course different from the classroom version?
The online version mirrors the classroom version by providing in-depth learning of the Outsourcing Professional Body of Knowledge (OPBOK) delivered using multimedia techniques to keep students interested, as well as support from the   lead teacher and IAOP mentors. You will be taken through ten modules covering the end-to-end process of outsourcing.  To advance through, you will be required to correctly answer ten questions per module.  You will earn the same 75 points you could earn if attending the instructor-led version. Sussessfully completing the class meets the aCOP training requirement. Even though students aren’t all sitting in the same room, they are exposed to provocative ideas about outsourcing and make important, long-lasting contacts that add value to their outsourcing practices.

Is the online course right for me?
The Online COP Master Class focuses equally on all three primary stakeholder groups – clients, providers and advisors. It provides substantial coverage of the Outsourcing Professional Body of Knowledge (OPBOK) that will immediately increase productivity within your organization and the organizations with whom you work. The course will also help prepare you for the COP Exam. Online instructor support and insight from esteemed professionals is available to you yet you’re working at your own pace and convenience.


How much does the online course cost?
The fee for the online COP Master Class is $2,995 USD.

How much time do I have to complete the online course?
The online COP Master class length is approximately 40 hours. Upon registration you will have 120 days to complete it.

Online Outsourcing Governance Workshop

After the successful launch of the Online COP Master Class, IAOP developed the online version of the popular Outsourcing Governance Workshop. Following the classroom outline stated below, this workshop will help attendees gain comprehensive cutting-edge knowledge on all aspects of creating and sustaining successful relationships with your outsourcing partners. 

Course Outline

  • Designing and overseeing an organization’s outsourcing governance model
  • Defining and evaluating organizational alternatives and other dimensions for managing governance
  • Defining and implementing an interdependent planning methodology
  • Developing an understanding to be able to measure, assess, and achieve continual improvement in organizational outcomes through outsourcing relative to original goals and changing business needs
  • Establishing an audit process and methodology that assure compliance not only to governance, but also to various statutory requirements (such as SOX compliance in US or Safe Harbor Act for EU countries)
Online Service Provider Business Development Workshop

Following in the footsteps of the successful Governance Workshop, IAOP polled our members to create the new online version of the Service Provider Business Development Workshop. Following the classroom outline stated below, this workshop will help attendees gain comprehensive cutting-edge knowledge on all aspects of dealing with complex and rapidly changing market realities and challenges that service providers must addrss to win and survive such as:  develop and maintain a competitive advantage and attractive value propositions; deal with growing competition from companies in developing countries that receive, in some situations, government support; rising protectionism in developed countries; developing integrated global marketing, sales, service delivery and operational strategies to support the demands of the multinational customers and others.

Course Outline
    • Provide insights to help current and emerging service providers by staying relevant, differentiated and capitalize on the growing demand for outsourcing services.
    • Discuss changes in the customer/client marketplace and how SP’s must continuously nurture their service delivery portfolio and continuously align their marketing and sales approaches, account relationship management, service deliver and operational strategies to win.
    • Describe the competitive landscape from a service provider perspective.
    • Analyze select competitive global service provider best practices, to retain and grow revenues by reviewing multiple case studies of providers headquartered respectively in North America, Europe and Asia.
    • Analyze select major client case studies to help service providers better understand the do’s and don’ts of successful business development and growth.
    • Help the service provider develop winning marketing, sales, delivery and service strategies.

Is the online course different from the classroom version?

These online workshop are delivered using multimedia techniques to keep students interested.  You will be taken through the Online Workshops  just like you would the live classroom version with complete coverage on the stages of growth. To complete the workshop you will be prompted to take a short exam.  You will earn the same 15 points you would earn if attending the instructor-led version.

Is the online course right for me?
The online workshops are a convenient way for busy executives to assess where their organization is positioned in governance and/or business development and how it can move along the growth curve. You can access the workshops online at any time from your own personal computer.


How much does the online course cost?
The fee for either of the online workshop is $699 USD. each.

How do I register?

How long does the course take to complete?
The online workshop length is approximately 8 hours. Upon registration you will have 90 days to complete it.

Does the training lead to any certification from IAOP?
Candidates who complete either orkshop earn 15 points towards COP certification and 8 recertification hours.  The Governance Workshop is also a requirement for the new advanced COP-GOV certification and the Service Provider Business Development Workshop is a requirement for the new advanced COP-BD certification.
