IAOP’s Certified Outsourcing Professional® (COP) “List of Firsts”
|
|
|
The International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP) is pleased to track professionals who earn the COP credential.
These professionals work across the outsourcing field as clients, providers and advisors in many different industries, from all over the globe. To earn the COP designation, each candidate had to complete and have reviewed by a panel of their peers an extensive application documenting the projects they had led and results achieved, their personal knowledge of the strategic, implementation and operational intricacies of outsourcing, and their overall educational background - both on outsourcing and on general business topics.
Keep checking back as this list will be updated regularly! To find out how you can join this prestigious group, sign up for a free COP Preparation Class Webinar or contact COP Program Services.

“Becoming a Certified Outsourcing Professional (COP) gives individuals a credible way to establish the level of outsourcing skill they have developed. It also highlights areas that individuals may want to focus further skill development activities on. Through the COP program, IAOP enables individuals to benchmark their skills against others in the industry, and join a community of thought leaders and leading practitioners that actively share ideas and best practices.
IAOP and the Certified Outsourcing Professional Program provide the outsourcing industry with a credible measure of skill and experience that can be used by customers, suppliers, and consultants to measure each other. The experience requirement in particular, helps separate those who have real in the trenches experience from those who have simply read books and taken classes. IAOP is also facilitating standardization of the practice of outsourcing, which will ultimately result in better, faster, and more successful outsourcing projects, and they provide credible data that help dispel common myths about outsourcing both pro and con.”

Biography
”The COP designation is an honor, but it reallyis significant because of what it represents. The management of outsourcing arrangements has not been thought of as a profession by most. Through the efforts of the IAOP and the processes and training established in support of the COP program, outsourcing has made great strides as a profession andorganizations can only benefit from this tremendous development.
In the past, the development and oversight of outsourcing arrangements has often been left to operational and procurement staffs to design. The body of knowledge and outsourcing processes that underpin the COP are invaluable tools in the hands of trained professionals. COPs are now able to capably assist organizations with all aspects of the outsourcing process, including the selection of activities to outsource. The lessons learned from these engagements are now being incorporated into the training and ongoing education of COPs and other members of IAOP, keeping these lessons from becoming simply historical anecdotes. This ongoing learning enables all organizations to benefit from what outsourcing professionals and others have learned, creating stronger and more beneficial outsourcing arrangements in the future.”

Biography
“There is a huge need for standardization and calibration within the outsourcing industry. It is paramount that service providers, customers, consultants and legal support move toward common standards, terms, methodologies and processes. The COP Certification is a critical step in the right direction for closing the gaps that exist today. This standardization will allow for a more rapid acceptance of outsourcing as a strategic practice. As outsourcing matures in its scope and scale of delivery, both the supply and buy side will benefit from standardization in terms of cost savings, less governance, more controls, healthy and happier successful relationships predicated on ethics, partnership and understanding of roles and responsibilities.
Strong prosperous relationships don’t come to fruition from sprinkling pixy dust and citing “true partnership–motherhood and apple pie”. It comes from hard work and establishing a framework that is built on action and process. The COP certification helps to remove some of the variation in the process.”

Biography
The world of IT Outsourcing is becoming complex day by day. Industry is witnessing both - successes and failures. Through COP, IAOP seems to be furthering the cause of creating a generation of upright, well-informed and distinguished business decision-makers in the Outsourcing arena. Network of these professionals will engage itself in developing a common code of conduct, standard and language which will cut across the boundaries of culture, geographies and languages to help industry achieve and maintain high-standards of outsourcing success. As the outsourcing world widens to absorb and merge all the lessons learned through its risks and failures, a new work force of outsourcing champions is needed to bring high-standard of learning, education and experience to the tables and thus create long-lasting, synergetic and innovative business partnerships amongst providers, advisors and client companies through effective advocating and large-scale propagating of the use of best outsourcing practices. This continuous demonstration of success through excellence by COPs will set an example in the industry for others to follow.
I expect the COP certificate to become a useful tool for businesses in identifying their champions who would form the cadre of distinguished outsourcing industry leaders who would help organizations realize their dreams in all phases of outsourcing engagements.

Biography
“It is a huge honor to be recognized by the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP) with its certification of my knowledge, accomplishments and success in Outsourcing as a provider, customer and advisor. Just as the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification brought to the profession of project management a new level of creditability and the Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB) certification brought to the profession of process improvement a new level of creditability, the Certified Outsourcing Professional (COP) certification process will bring a new level of credibility to the profession of Outsourcing. The COP certification is a great formal recognition that I possess the experience and skill to successfully drive the full life cycle of outsourcing engagements. I strongly believe my MBA along with COP, PMP and CSSBB certifications will set me apart in the World of Outsourcing.
I believe that IAOP, through the COP program, provides a steady, time proven and executable methodology along with a solid standardization to the Full Life Cycle to the Outsourcing Process. The Standardization of Outsourcing will allow it to evolve more quickly into a greater strategic practice within the business community. The Outsourcing Professional Body of Knowledge, Code of Ethics and Business Practice together offer comprehensive framework to govern and serve the Outsourcing Industry as a whole.”
