One requirement of the Outsourcing Professional Body of Knowledge (OPBOK) is the “Ability to assess and enhance over time an organization’s outsourcing maturity.” This workshop will provide an overview of two eSourcing Capability Models and the associated appraisal methods, which can be said to meet this requirement. ITSqc, LLC, the spin-off from Carnegie Mellon University created to promote best practice models for the global IT-enabled services industry, aims to extend the impact of the eSourcing Capability Models (eSCM-SP for service providers and eSCM-CL for client organizations). Course Description
Largely fostered by the globalization of organizations and spread of the Internet, processing standards, and common software packages, organizations now regularly source business and IT services globally. This course covers topics to help managers source business and IT services from the initiation of a sourcing decision and evaluation process through supplier selection and transition to outsourcing. The course also covers the client and supplier capabilities and contractual and relational governance that are needed to ensure good outsourcing outcomes for both parties. Although the course focuses on global sourcing of IT work because this is the most mature market, the global sourcing of other back office functions including finance, HR, procurement, real estate, legal, and other functions are also covered. Students will also investigate insourcing options such as shared services and captive centers and other emerging sourcing topics such as cloud computing, freelance outsourcing, and rural sourcing.

Description of Organization
The Cameron School of Business is part of the University of St. Thomas, a private Catholic university following the Basilian tradition. The university is located in the center of Houston and prides itself on its one-to-one engagement between faculty and students and the academic leadership of our facility. The Cameron School offers these programs- Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with majors in Accounting, Finance, General Business and Marketing, Master of Business Administration, Master of Science in Accounting, and a five year combined BBA/MBA.
