Meeting held May 27, 2010

A meeting of the IAOP North Africa Chapter, chaired by Ossama Nazmi of Xceed, was held on Thursday, May 27, 2010 at 4 pm in Morocco at the Sheraton Hotel, Casablanca - 100, Avenue des F.A.R., Casablanca, 20000.

The meeting featured a presentation by Abdelaziz Arji of EURODEFI on“Outsourcing in Morocco: From Cost Reduction to Business Expertise.”

Meeting held May 13, 2009 in Morocco

A meeting of the IAOP North Africa Chapter, chaired by Ossama Nazmi of Xceed, was held on Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Morocco.

Ihab Shawi, general manager from Xceed, opened the meeting with welcoming remarks and introductions.  Following his remarks, Youssef Chraibi, chairman of Outsourcia, provided a presentation entitled “The Future of Outsourcing in the North Africa Region.”

Chapter Chair Summary – March 12, 2009 meeting

The topic of this meeting “Outsourcing and The Global Economy: Learnings from The 2009 Outsourcing World Summit” was presented by Michael F. Corbett, Chairman of IAOP.

Ossama Nazmi, the North Africa Chapter Chair and Xceed vice president of marketing and business development started by introducing the International Association for Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP), the Chapters and the North Africa Chapter goals.

Following that, Michael Corbett presented “Outsourcing and The Global Economy: Learnings from The 2009 Outsourcing World Summit” and discussed the lessons learned from the 2009 Outsourcing World Summit as well as the impact of the current economic turbulence on the future of outsourcing and shared stories demonstrating the impact of this economic crisis on offshoring.  The meeting program included a panel comprised of:  Ossama Nazmi, vice president of marketing and business development from Xceed, Michael Corbett, chairman of IAOP, Magda El Sabae, chairman from Orascom Technology Solutions and Sherif Kamel, dean from American University in Cairo (AUC).

Discussion included: Predictions for the current economic crisis, the current position of Egypt within the outsourcing industry, risks and opportunities of outsourcing and partnership between providers in addition to the future of outsourcing in light of the U.S. Administration led by President Obama as well as the criteria for the local companies to standout.

The meeting was held in collaboration with the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt and included attendees from the largest corporations in Egypt such as: Orascom, Procter & Gamble, Xerox, Agora, Smart Villages Company and others.

Inaugural meeting held – Monday, June 2, 2008

The Inaugural Meeting of the North Africa Chapter took place on Monday, June 2, 2008 at the Smart Village Pavilion in the Smart Village, Km 28 Cairo/Alex Road, Egypt from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The topic of this first meeting “Next Generation of Outsourcing: Smartsourcing” was presented by Dr. Adel Danish, Xceed Chairman and CEO.

Mr. Ossama Nazmi, the North Africa Chapter Chair and Xceed Vice President of Marketing and Business Development, started by introducing the International Association for Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP), the Chapters and the North Africa Chapter goals.

Following that, Dr. Danish, Xceed Chiarman and CEO,  presented “Next Generation of Outsourcing: Smartsourcing” and discussed how smartsourcing increases innovation throughout the range of process from core to non-core, allowing organizations to focus on their most critical areas of differentiation and customer value, while also achieving high levels of innovation in non-core operations.

The meeting program included a panel comprised of: Tamer Badrawi, The Call Center Company (C3), Managing Director; Sameh Montasser, Advanced Corporate Solutions (ACS), CEO; and Mohammad Shahabuddin, Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), Advisory of Program Manager.

Discussion included: different views about smartsourcing, importance of competition and ways of keeping your clients, the outsourcing industry in Egypt, smartsourcing is about quality not cost, telecommunications costs in Egypt and solutions for improvement.
