Educational Purpose: To position Jordan as a strategic location for outsourcing services in the Middle East spanning technology services, business services and knowledge services. Through IAOP the chapter shall place pertinent emphasis on the following:
- Enable exchange of insights from members and global sourcing industry thought leaders
- Endeavor to support initiatives aimed at development of a sustainable workforce
- Focus on creating buyer-awareness in Jordan on sourcing and its beneficial impacts
- Leverage IAOP’s platform and knowledge base to learn about best practices, competencies, and influencer management strategies including trends in the global sourcing marketplace pertinent to industry development.
Networking Purpose: A Networking forum for Jordanian and Regional service providers, buyers, consultants and professionals. This will assist in the growth of the industry through generation of thought leadership, sharing of industry best practices and partnership synergies.
Leadership Purpose: The chapter will work closely with other regional chapters to bring together greater visibility to the MENA region and contribute to the growth of outsourcing sector in this region. As an emerging region, Jordan chapter shall leverage IAOP’s COP program and other Professional education initiatives to enhance capabilities and expertise of outsourcing professionals within the region. There will also be efforts to inform and educate buyer organizations in the region on the benefits and options of outsourcing so that the demand for these services continues to grow. Intaj, which is Jordan’s ITES Association, is keen on making the COP a mainstay professional recognition within the industry.

The inaugural Jordan Chapter meeting was held on May 31, 2010
The inaugural meeting of the IAOP Jordan Chapter, chaired by Int@j (ICTES Association of Jordan), was held on Monday, May 31 from 9:00 to 17:30 at the Sheraton Amman Al Nabil Hotel & Towers in Amman, Jordan.
Abed Shamlawi, CEO of Int@j provided the opening comments and introductions for the inaugural meeting. Welcoming remarks were provided by H. E. Mr. Marwan Juma, Minister of Information and Communication Technology, Steve Gonyea, Director, Economic Growth Office, USAID and Michael Corbett, Chairman, IAOP.
