IAOP Training

"The Master Class provides a comprehensive tool set and broad framework to adapt to any initiative or business challenge. More important, the program gets you to think strategically about why, what and how to outsource from three varying perspectives. This alignment of views is paramount in creating successful collaborative partnerships." ~Lance Kwasniewski, COP, Belcan Corp

THE BUSINESS CASE

 WHY TRAINING?

When you have trained individuals on your team, they understand the challenges, pitfalls and how to avoid them in the first place.  If you have a trained team doing the work, it's going to run better.  It’s going to have fewer deviations, it's going to work from a set of standards and it's going to be more effective.

Understanding the process, from strategy to implementation to management and doing it right has many benefits and in the long run, it’s cost savings to not only providers but their customers as well.

Content for this one-day Governance Workshop is based on the Outsourcing Professional Body of Knowledge (OPBOK) and the Outsourcing Professional Standards developed by IAOP and the Outsourcing Standards Board. Whether your goal is to earn 15 points toward the Certified Outsourcing Professional (COP) designation or simply to gain comprehensive cutting-edge knowledge on all aspects of creating and sustaining successful relationships with your partners — this workshop is for you! Studies have found that more than half of all organizations spend two percent or less of an outsourcing contract’s cost on governance. However, more than 60 percent report losing 10 percent or more of the contract’s value because of poor governance between the customer and the provider. Given this, professionals involved in outsourcing clearly have an important role to play in helping their organizations plan, invest in, and execute a cohesive set of business practices for designing and implementing a strong governance program.

Best practice shows that implementing and operating a Sourcing Governance Function will require staff awareness and understanding of the key principles and concepts of outsourcing and sourcing governance. In this course, an interactive approach is used combining lecture, discussion, and exercises.

The course is a qualifying COS-FP certification training.  The course and qualifying COS-FP certification exam are offered by accredited trainers through APMG-International. Additionally, the Sourcing Governance Foundation course has been mapped to the Outsourcing Professional Standards and accredited with 25 points toward the COP Certification, 15 CEH’s towards COP Recertification, and inclusion in the Outsourcing Professional Course Catalog.
