PRIMARY PURPOSE

The Singapore Chapter of IAOP aims to provide leadership in, and to assist in and facilitate, the shaping and enhancing of the Sourcing industry in Singapore, and (in collaboration with other Chapters) the ASEAN region and the Asia Pacific region.  The Chapter provides a forum for customers, providers, advisors, industry bodies and agencies, based in Singapore, to collaborate and share best proactices, ideas, experiences, insights and expertise in relation to Sourcing activities.  In addition, the Chapter provides professional networking opportunities for its members.

Meeting held March 3, 2015

The IAOP Singapore Chapter, chaired by Olswang LLPInfosys and KPMG, together with the Project Management Institute, Singapore Chapter (SPMI) held a meeting on March 3, 2015 from 6:30pm to 9:00pm at Function Room 4.1 - 4.2 @ Administration Building, Singapore Management University, 81 Victoria Street, Singapore, 188065.

Panel Discussion Topic: "Effective Business Transformation - How to Deliver this through Sourcing and Project Management"
In today’s highly complex and dynamic business environment, businesses need to adapt and constantly transform to meet various challenges.  “How do we deliver business transformation through project management and sourcing?”  This impending and important question that many project managers and sourcing professionals have was addressed and discussed.

Meeting Topic: "Innovation, disruptive technologies and business transformation" - 

Change is inevitable. New technologies accelerate change. The focus of this seminar was on how new technologies are changing, and will change, sourcing models, impacting not only suppliers’ but customer’s operating models, and the extent to which the core driver for sourcing decisions will be business transformation.

Meeting Topic: "Sourcing Maturity in our Market - The Journey Continues..." - 

We continued our journey through the sourcing lifecycle and its related drivers, operating models, challenges and risks including lessons learned from case studies across industries, other sourcing models and geographies.
 
We had a panel and audience discussion on two key topics:
 
A.  The Singapore Market.  Why outsource/what are the benefits for a Singaporean organisation?  Moving elsewhere in the region?  A snapshot of the Singapore market and our predictions for the next 3 or so years. 
 
B.  Incentivisation.  What is it?  How do we do it?  Sourcing models and commercial models that have worked/have not worked.  How to use them?
