  CEO Message

Wow, Wednesdays have been a lot more exciting these past eight weeks with you!

Thank you for joining us for your weekly intake of the latest thought leadership on outsourcing during the OWS22 virtual event series.

While we couldn’t be together in person, this alternative format kept us connected and inspired. Thank you for making our 25th edition of OWS such a rewarding experience for all our participants.

Througout all these years, we’ve become a true community where advice has been given and taken, expertise shared, and questions asked and answered. It continues to be a great joy for us to bring together this incredible community of like-minded individuals to share learning experiences and best practices and create partnerships and friendships.

I hope you enjoyed exploring the cutting-edge conversations centered around the themes of future of work, collaborative supplier governance, digital technologies and social impact – the key areas where IAOP also has focused the association’s expertise and resources by establishing Centers of Excellence.

It was so exciting to officially launch the Center for Social Impact that connects you to the resources and people you need to excel at doing well by doing good through Impact Sourcing; Socially Responsible Outsourcing; Diversity, Equity and Inclusion; Women Empowerment and Leadership; Refugee Initiatives; Global Mentorship and more. I hope you enjoyed the final day of programming devoted to Social Impact.

The IAOP Awards Ceremony was an uplifting celebration of the many outsourcing achievements by companies and individuals who are making our industry and world a better place. Please read our stories on the winners in this issue of PULSE.

Remember if you missed any of this incredible content, sessions are available on-demand until April 2. We are very grateful for all our speakers, attendees and especially our sponsors - IBM, Avasant and Sitel - for making OWS22 a huge success.

And while OWS22 is now a wrap, we have so more on the horizon. As our industry continues to grow and change, we need to come together more than ever to learn from each other, connect and collaborate. Pressing issues like digital transformation, talent, governance and social impact will remain front and center in all of our conversations.

Be sure to look for more details for our upcoming Certified Outsourcing Professional Master Class on May 2-5 and announcements on where IAOP will be going to bring you targeted programs working with our corporate members. Also, don’t forget to take advantage of the workshop on collaborative supplier governance rescheduled from OWS22 for this spring.

As always, our members are our thought leaders and we hope you’ll continue to stay involved. We would love to hear your ideas and suggestions so please reach out. The middle of our work week won’t be the same without you!

Since OWS22 ended on Feb. 23, our world has been shook by the heart-breaking events unfolding in Ukraine. IAOP stands in support of the courageous people of this country and our friends, colleagues and outsourcing professionals working in this area. We pray for their safety and a peaceful end to this unfathomable conflict.

Experts believe that the refugee crisis could grow to between 4 and 5 million if a swift resolution to Russia’s invasion isn’t found. For more information in how you can help, please see this post from our partner, Tent Partnership for Refugees.
