Mary Lacity and Leslie P. Willcocks to be Inducted 
into IAOP’s Outsourcing Hall of Fame
 
Poughkeepsie, NY, December 5, 2013 – The International Association of Outsourcing Professionals® (IAOP®) today announced that Mary Lacity, COP and Curators’ Professor of Information Systems and an International Business Fellow at the University of Missouri-St. Louis and Leslie P. Willcocks, COP and Professor in Technology Work and Globalization at the Department of Management at London School of Economics and Political Science are set to be inducted into its prestigious Outsourcing Hall of Fame during The 2014 Outsourcing World Summit in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
 
“Mary Lacity and Leslie Willcocks are leaders in outsourcing who have significantly contributed to business and society at large,” said IAOP CEO Debi Hamill. “We are honored to induct them into the prestigious Outsourcing Hall of Fame, recognizing them for their outstanding work and many contributions to the industry and world around us.”
 
Mary Lacity is also a Visiting Professor at the London School of Economics, Co-Chair of IAOP’s Midwest Chapter, Industry Advisor for Outsourcing Angels and the Everest Group, Co-editor of the Palgrave Series: Work, Technology, and Globalization, and on the Editorial Boards for Journal of Information Technology, MIS Quarterly Executive, Journal of Strategic Information Systems, and Strategic Outsourcing: An International Journal. Her research focuses on global outsourcing of business and IT services. She has conducted case studies and surveys of hundreds of organizations on their outsourcing and management practices.
 
“To be welcomed in the IAOP Hall of Fame among the CEOs of global provider firms, founders of the top advisory firms, and leading client executives is truly an overwhelming experience for an academic,” said Lacity.
 
Leslie Willcocks heads the LSE’s Outsourcing Unit research centre. He is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Information Technology and JIT Teaching Cases and holds visiting chairs at three other universities. He is co-editor, with Mary Lacity, of the Palgrave Series: Work Technology and Globalization.  Leslie has a global reputation for outsourcing, global strategy, organizational change and managing digital business. He has published 39 books and over 230 refereed papers in key journals on these subjects. His clients for advisory, work education programs, research and presentations include major corporations and government institutions worldwide.    
 
It is an outstanding honour to be recognized by IAOP and the organizations, executives and industry it represents,” said Willcocks. “It has also been an immense privilege to work so closely over 20 years with Mary Lacity, who established the academic field with her seminal doctoral work in 1992.”
 
Together, Lacity and Willcocks have co-authored over one hundred publications – most recently The Rise of Legal Services Outsourcing: Risk and Opportunity (co-author Andrew Burgess), which will be published this April.
