IAOP Expands in Latin America with Launch of Colombia Chapter
Kick off Meetings to be Held in Bogota and Barranquilla in May

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y., April 30 – The International Association of Outsourcing Professionals® (IAOP®) continues to expand globally with the launch of its Colombia Chapter that will hold two kick off meetings in Bogota and Barranquilla next month.

The new chapter will bring outsourcing professionals together to adapt best practices, develop strategies, and promote education and professional development to increase the county’s competiveness as an offshore and nearshore destination.

“Latin America has become an attractive offshore and nearshore destination, offering many advantages to U.S. and European companies,” said IAOP Chairman Michael Corbett. “By working together, this chapter will achieve its goals of positioning outsourcing as a recognized profession and industry in Colombia.”

The meetings will be held May 3, from 2 to 6 p.m., in Bogota; and May 5, from 9 a.m. in Barranquilla. These events are free and open to outsourcing customers, providers, advisors and other professionals.

Speaking at both meetings will be: IAOP’s Corbett on “Trends of Outsourcing – Global Vision;” Atul Vashistha, Chairman, NeoGroup, on “Global Services Sourcing & Colombia: Competitiveness, Opportunities and Way Forward;” and Julia Santos, Director - Worldwide Strategic Outsourcing, Johnson & Johnson Group of Consumer Companies on “What Multi-nationals Think About When They Look At Various Destinations Around The World.”

The Colombia chapter is chaired by ANDI (National Business Association of Colombia), Invest in Bogotá and ProBarranquilla.

The May 3 meeting will feature introductions by Santiago Pinzon, Chamber of BPO – ANDI; Ricardo Duarte, Vice Minister of Trade; and Virgilio Barco, Executive Director, Invest in Bogota. Tatiana Orozco, Executive Director, Probarranquilla, will make opening remarks at the May 5 meeting.

The Colombia Chapter is a geographic chapter within IAOP’s portfolio of more than 40 chapters worldwide. It is open to all IAOP members from around the globe.

The event is free and open to users, advisors and providers of outsourcing services who are individual or corporate members of IAOP. Non-members are invited to attend as a guest of IAOP. Click here to be added to the chapter notification list.
