International Association of Outsourcing Professionals Takes Its Outsourcing Thought Leadership on the Road
IAOP Global Tour Launches This Month with Stops in Asia-Pacific Region
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y., Feb. 9 – The International Association of Outsourcing Professionals™ (IAOP™) will take its outsourcing expertise and thought leadership on the road with the launch of its first IAOP Global Tour this month.
The IAOP will bring insights learned from its annual conference, The Outsourcing World Summit®, Feb. 16-18, 2009 at the La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California, to professionals around the world.
The first stops for the IAOP Global Tour will be in the growing Asia-Pacific region in late February through March, where IAOP Chairman Michael Corbett, one of the world’s best known experts in the field, will make a series of presentations on the state of the industry and its future direction.
Among the topics Corbett will discuss are how, why and where the global economic downturn is affecting outsourcing; the latest outsourcing opportunities and new ways to use outsourcing for tactical and strategic advantage; and the critical role outsourcing professionals now play in improving outcomes for buyers and sellers alike.
“With the many changes on Wall Street, Main Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, it is now more important than ever for outsourcing professionals to get involved and help shape the future of outsourcing as a management practice, profession and industry,” said Corbett. “The IAOP Global Tour will reach out to professionals from around the globe to share information that can help improve outsourcing outcomes.”
The tour also will preview the information that will be delivered at The 2009 Asia-Pacific Outsourcing Summit, themed “Outsourcing 2009: Asia’s Role in the New Global Economy.” This annual event will be held May 12-13, 2009, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in association with PIKOM and Outsourcing Malaysia.
Stops include IAOP chapter events in Australia on Feb. 23; Singapore, Feb. 27; Kuala Lumpur, March 2; Manilla, Philippines, March 4; Hong Kong, March 6; and Dubai, March 9. A meeting also will be held in Cairo, Egypt in mid-March.
