Outsourcing Leaders to Discuss Asia’s Role in the New Global Economy at The 2009 Asia-Pacific Outsourcing Summit in Malaysia

IAOP, PIKOM’s Outsourcing Malaysia and Malaysia Economic Development Group Join to Produce Premier International Outsourcing Conference

POUGHKEEPSIE, N. Y., Jan.13, 2009 – With Asia at the center of the new global economy, business leaders from around the world will come together to discuss the future role of outsourcing in and to the region at The 2009 Asia-Pacific Outsourcing Summit in Malaysia.

Themed “Outsourcing 2009: Asia’s Role in the New Global Economy,” the event will be held May 12-13, 2009 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center. Produced by the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP) in association with Outsourcing Malaysia, it is part of the world-renowned Outsourcing World Summit® Conference Series.

Outsourcing Malaysia is a special interest group of The National ICT Association of Malaysia (PIKOM) and of the Multimedia Development Corp. (MDeC), the Malaysia government’s leading economic development organization and head of IAOP’s Malaysia chapter.

The conference will emphasize outsourcing’s emergence as a global business practice and profession; how exceptional results demand exceptional execution; the critical connection between cultural ties and global sourcing decisions; and how the most successful firms simultaneously think globally, but act locally.

“Asia’s role in the global outsourcing marketplace will be pivotal moving forward, despite the economic downturn, which is why it is so important for any global company to understand how outsourcing is changing and evolving in the region,” said IAOP Chairman Michael Corbett.

“The Asia-Pacific Outsourcing Summit will act as a catalyst for the outsourcing industry in the region,” said David Wong, Chairman of PIKOM and Outsourcing Malaysia. “In Malaysia, the shared services and outsourcing sector is rapidly growing at twice the global rate of 15 percent, with still untapped potential for further growth.”
