IAOP Reports Higher Numbers of Outsourcing Service Providers Apply for

 The Global Outsourcing 100

Application deadline for Annual Rankings of Service Providers and  New Advisor List is Nov. 1

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y., Oct. 1, 2008 – With one month to go in the application process, The International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP) today reported higher global applicant volume for its fourth annual outsourcing service provider ranking, The Global Outsourcing 100, and growing interest in its inaugural World’s Best Outsourcing Advisors listing.

The association also announced the availability of a free online Webinar, “Completing the Best Possible Application,” to aid companies in submitting their applications for the rankings.
IAOP is seeing strong activity from the Asian-Pacific region for the service provider ranking, continuing a trend last year when an increasing number of companies from this region were named among the leaders and rising stars.

“Each year, interest continues to build for The Global Outsourcing 100 as providers named on it recognize the tremendous recognition it brings, and companies using it realize its many benefits as a research tool in their decision making process,” said IAOP Chairman Michael Corbett.

New for 2009, IAOP has added the World’s Best Outsourcing Advisors, a listing of consultant, legal and related advisory firms globally; and The Global Outsourcing 100 Plus, an expanded industry-wide report highlighting the qualifications and capabilities of the best service providers and advisors globally.

Unlike other industry rankings based on surveys, the provider and advisor rankings are determined by applications judged by an independent panel of recognized industry leaders using an objective methodology and compiled by IAOP. Established in 2006, The Global Outsourcing 100 includes Leaders and Rising Stars, as well as 25 sublists based on geographies, services and industry.

The online application process for service providers and advisors to fully complete applications for the rankings is Nov. 1. Companies do not have to be IAOP members to apply.

Webinar Provides Helpful Tips

The new Webinar provides step-by-step instructions on applying and completing the application, as well as tips and insights on the independently judged process, such as the importance of providing customer testimonials and other third party supporting documentation with the application.

Similar to the request for proposal process, companies are ranked on overall capabilities and quality following a rigorously judged application process that examines multiple criteria. Final rankings are based on a weighted average on demonstrated competencies, size and growth, management capabilities and customer references.

“In less than a half hour with no advance registration required, applicants can come away with valuable information to showcase their strengths and submit the best application they can,” said Pamela O’Dell, program administrator. “Participating in this Webinar will help providers and advisors applying for the rankings save time, increase their competitiveness and make the application process easier for them.”

The new online Webinar is open for all interested companies at no cost, by clicking here.
