Date and Time: November 16, 2017 at 12:00 PM Eastern

Topic: Strategic Sourcing in the New Economy: Harnessing Sourcing Business Models in Modern Outsourcing

The outsourcing playing field is no longer one of labor arbitrage or low cost transactions, but knowing when and how to apply collaborative relationships where suppliers are incentivized to drive transformation and innovation with purposeful investments designed to create value for your organization.  University of Tennessee’s Kate Vitasek will highlight her decade+ research into sourcing business models and why it is essential for organizations to begin “architecting” outsourcing relationships versus “buying” an outsourcing deal.  Key takeaways include:
  • Why some of the worlds’ most popular sourcing models are incomplete for today’s modern outsourcing
  • What is Sourcing Business Model theory and how does it work?
  • When it is essential shift along the sourcing continuum to more advanced models
  • How to apply Sourcing Business Model theory for any type of outsourcing deal

Attendees will also leave with a fresh perspective and a new lens for thinking about supplier relationships. They will also get a link to download an open source Business Model Mapping resource they can use immediately to turn Sourcing Business Models theory into practice.

Featured Speaker Kate Vitasek:  Kate is an international authority for her award-winning research and Vested® business model for highly collaborative relationships.   Author of 6 books and a Faculty member at the University of Tennessee, she has been lauded by World Trade Magazine as one of the “Fabulous 50+1” most influential people impacting global commerce.   She is a Forbes contributing editor on the art, science and practice of highly collaborative relationships and her work has appeared in over 300 articles.
