The primary focus of the Philippines Chapter is both networking and educational. n
The Chapter aims to provide a forum to bring together business executives, service providers, end-users and advisors who are interested in global sourcing, with the focus on the Philippines as an outsourcing destination. n
The chapter will also endeavor to work closely with IAOP’s Advocacy & Outreach Committee to advance outsourcing as a recognized profession and as an industry. n

Most recent meeting held March 4, 2009 as part of the IAOP Global Tour!
The most recent meeting of the IAOP Philippines Chapter chaired by Peter Maquera of SPi was held on March 4, 2009 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the SPi Building, Pascor Drive, Sto Nino, Paranaque City 1700, Metro Manilla, Philippines.
This meeting was part of the IAOP Global Tour featuring Michael F. Corbett, Chairman of IAOP. As the keynote speaker, Michael spoke to the topic of “Outsourcing and The Global Economy: Learnings from the 2009 Outsourcing World Summit.”

Meeting held – June 5, 2008
A meeting of the IAOP Philippines Chapter, chaired by Peter Maquera of SPi, was held on June 5, 2008 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the SPi offices, PITC Building, Pascor Dr, Paranaque, Metro Manila.
The meeting opened with an introduction of the IAOP by sharing its history, mission and programs plus the vision for the Philippines Chapter. Following the introduction, a discussion surrounding “BPO Trends in the Philippines” took place.
The meeting wrapped up with a networking open house. It was a well attended session that provided valuable updates and insights about the region.

Captive vs. Third Party - A Philippines Perspective
On Wednesday, December 13, 2006, Peter Maquera, Vice President, SPi and Chapter Chair, moderated a round table discussion featuring Greg Clark, Asia Global Business Services Director, Procter & Gamble and Romeo Aquino, Managing Director, Philippines, NeoIT. Greg and Romeo shared their insights on captive vs. third party providers.
After welcoming everyone to the webinar, Michael Corbett, Executive Director of IAOP, provided an overview of IAOP. A Chapter introduction by Peter Maquera followed.
The webinar featured a round table discussion followed by a Q & A session. At the close of the discussion, an announcement of the next webinar topic was made.
Inaugural Meeting – August 28, 2006
The Chapter’s first meeting was held via webinar on Monday, August 28, 2006 from 11:00 am – 12:00 noon Eastern time. The meeting, chaired by corporate member SPi, featured the topic “Philippines as a BPO Destination.”
Mr. Bill Lewis, Consulting Director, LexisNexis Sourcing Global Supplier Management, presented from a customer perspective. Mr. Lewis is an expert in managing multi-million dollar outsourcing engagements for LexisNexis across the globe and brings valuable insights.
