Value Health Check SurveyTM (VHCSTM) Powered by Enlighta
The Value Health Check Survey (VHCS), is a web-based diagnostic tool designed to assist outsourcing customers and service providers in optimizing the health and value in their existing outsourcing and/or shared service center relationships. The VHCS is the key enabler of the Outsourcing Relationship Health Check ProcessTM that provides outsourcing customers and service providers with rapid insights into key strengths and opportunities for improving (OFI) business value in their relationships. VHCS can be used to assess the health of any type of services outsourcing relationship (i.e. ITO, BPO, or KPO) whether the work is being performed on, near or offshore. This unique flexibility enables organizations to use the VHCS and Outsourcing Relationship Health Check Process to establish and sustain a healthy portfolio of outsourcing and shared service center relationships across the enterprise. The VHCS tool collects data across the five key areas of value in outsourcing relationships as represented in the Sourcing Relationship Value Framework. Important contract and relationship demographic information is captured enabling customers and service providers to understand how their relationships perform relative to various peer groups across the global outsourcing industry. Additional analytics can be performed against VHCS data providing rich insights to the key contributors to healthy, high performing and sustainable relationships.
The Sourcing Relationship Value FrameworkTM
Healthy, high performing & sustainable outsourcing relationships exhibit common characteristics. These relationships typically are able to strike a dynamic balance between the key areas of value and the vital signs of health in outsourcing and shared service center relationships. The VHCS is based on a standardized framework for optimizing outsourcing business value – The Sourcing Relationship Value Framework. The five key areas that comprise the Sourcing Relationship Value Framework are: Financial Performance, Service Quality, Capabilities, Risk & Compliance, and Governance.
The Outsourcing Relationship Health Check ProcessTM
The VHCS is the key enabler of the Outsourcing Relationship Health Check Process that is a standardized, repeatable and highly affordable approach to assessing and improving the health and value in outsourcing and shared service center relationships. Through a focused three (3) phased approach, customers and service providers involved in outsourcing and shared service center relationships can quickly identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities for improvement and barriers to success in their relationship(s).

Using IAOP’s Value Health Check Survey
In order to use the VHCS, the outsourcing customer and service provider each identify a VHCS Administrator that will have the responsibility to execute the survey with their respective organization and be the liaison to their assigned VHCS Advisor. Each VHCS (whether customer or service provider version) comes pre-loaded with VHCS Advisory Assistance for a low fixed fee.
The VHCS Advisor will invite the VHCS Administrators to attend a 45-minute VHCS Orientation where they are briefed on how to prepare their VHCS participants to take the VHCS survey and complete the Outsourcing Relationship Health Check Process. Phase 1 – Assess, of the end-to-end process begins with VHCS participants completing the 30-45 minute on-line VHCS survey. In the VHCS survey, participants score their perception of the priority and level of agreement with 40 value statements across the five key areas of value as outlined in the Sourcing Relationship Value Framework. Once participants complete the VHCS survey, they are immediately provided with their VHCS relationship health check scores. Within 3-5 days of completion of the VHCS online survey, customer and service provider VHCS Administrators are briefed by their VHCS Advisor on the VHCS Basic Report that includes over 30 pages of data, information and participant comments. With VHCS data in hand, the VHCS administrators work with their VHCS Advisor to execute Phase 2 – Analysis of the health check process. The VHCS Advisor will prep the VHCS Administrators for their respective internal de-briefings and will also facilitate de-briefings for both organizations. The VHCS Advisor then prepares the VHCS Administrators for their critical joint workshop and finally facilitates the ½ day joint workshop using supporting specially designed analytical tools. The VHCS Advisor finally drafts the VHCS Final Report for both VHCS Administrator’s review and approval. The VHCS Final Report summarizes key strengths, opportunities for improvement, actions plans, resources/responsibilities, risks and a timetable to optimize the health and value in the relationship.
The Value Health Check Survey is designed to enable organizations to rapidly perform health checks on their entire portfolio of outsourcing contracts and relationships. If organizations perform periodic relationship health checks using VHCS, they can receive comprehensive online reports and alerts highlighting key trends across their portfolio of relationships and how their relationships are performing compared to select peer groups across the global outsourcing industry. VHCS is easily and affordably customizable to the unique needs of both customers and service providers. In order to perform a 360 degree health check of an outsourcing or shared service center relationship, two (2) VHCS must be used (i.e., one for the customer and one for the service provider.
VHCS may be purchased at IAOP Member and Non-Member bulk rates for as low as $500 per VHCS, making VHCS by far the most effective, efficient and affordable tool in the industry to use when assessing the overall health of outsourcing and shared service center relationships. IAOP Corporate Customer and Service Provider Members receive two (2) Value Health Check Surveys with their annual membership. All VHCS include pre-loaded VHCS Advisory Assistance that is subject to a separate fixed fee as outlined in the VHCS Advisory Assistance Guide.
