Certified Outsourcing Specialist™ – Marketing & Sales (COS-MS)  

Where IAOP’s Certified Outsourcing Professional® (COP) designation sets the standard of excellence for managers and executives who design, implement and manage outsourcing relationships, the Certified Outsourcing Specialist family of designations does the same for individuals involved in the delivery and operational management of commonly-outsourced business activities.  Although the primary intention is to serve the need of the provider community, certifications in this family may meet customer and advisor needs as well.

It is recommended, but not required that the candidate should have had prior education – Higher Education/ Associate Degree/ Foundation Degree/ Bachelor’s Degree or other equivalent qualification. This is to ensure a minimum aptitude and education level. Marketing & sales can be a quite technical subject and it would be recommended, but not required for the candidate to have had exposure to the fundamentals of marketing & sales processes before undertaking the test.  It will also be preferred that the candidate has had some prior exposure to marketing & sales as a function in order to respond to questions that are about core marketing & sales processes. While this is not a prerequisite towards understanding the domain, it will greatly help the candidate fare better in the test.
 
COS Marketing & Sales demonstrates a practical view of the marketing & sales processes, procedures and knowledge of day-to-day functional aspects in the Marketing & Sales Department as well as those engaged in specialized marketing & sales services. 

The test may be purchased individually and taken as a “self-assessment”, or the test may also be taken at a corporate & professional development alliance partner company who can administer and certify the results.
